Yeah, it was disappointing though. It only had around 16,000 original miles on it, but it had major issues. The owner had it for over 30 years but only drove it about 50 miles then parked it and let it sit for all those years. It was filthy and covered in dirt and it had been stored without the carb on it for some reason. The engine was rusty.

The show only paid $17,000 for it, but the seller told them later that he had tried to sell it for only $10,000 earlier on, which of course would have been the deal of the century. From the limited shots they showed, the body appeared to be in decent shape overall as did the interior.

In the end the show determined that the engine cradle was rusted out and they decided to just put it up for sale and cut their losses.

I don't think they know a heck of a lot about Panteras on the show; it would be interesting to see just how the engine cradle really looked in person.
A terrible show. And not at all complimentary sans the short Pantera retrospective.

The fat arssed mechanic after hitting his head while crawling under the back end and struggling to get in and out of the car said he hated it. Basically he did not want any part of working on it.

Richard disgustedly called it a POS as he scribbled "4 sale " on the windshield.
From what I saw, I would buy that for $17k ALL DAY LONG!!!
Personally I like the show for the entertainment value. Based on what the show allows us to see, it would appear that Richard R. has "Forrest Gumped" his way through life. How's that saying go, Good to be smart, better to be lucky, something like that. It's kind of fun to watch, probably why so many of us saw it last night.
As for their decision to pass on the Pantera, all for the better. Hope it went to someone that will treat it right and do a quality job, at least better than that Nomad. Poor Dale Jr.
I spoke with an insider on the show Graveyardcarz. The show is out of Seattle and the shop owner is a Mopar guy. They act like idiots, wrestling in the shop like 8th graders, and I mentioned that to my friend. He said that the shows producers encurage that because nobody cares about a show about cars, but America loves an idiot! Maybe it make people feel better about themselves? Talking about a motor starting. I built one and had it primed and when I hooked up the power to the coil, the number 1 plug fired and it was on TDC, and the engine just started without even cranking it. You should have been there!
Here it is in all its glory

First couple of hours out and already $19,300+ and yep, I would think still well worth it. However because of the publicity I bet this car will be over $25K in no time.
Had to laugh when they state in the ad that he did not feel the rust was structural, sure is in my mind. What do you think? Good thing that car did not run, Richard would do one of his burn outs and twist that car into a pretizel.
If anyone buys this car, I do have the heavy duty patch pannels available. Your going to need them.

If someone buys that car they will need to be very good at welding and metal forming. Those chassis rails didn't look too healthy and if there is that much rust there, the rest of the car won't be too healthy. I can't help but think that this car is just going to end up in a million pieces all over someones garage floor for the next ten years. I hope who ever gets it can see it through to the end because I have seen (and owned) cars like this that just end up forgotten projects.
if the guy that buys it thinks there is only rust in the rear suspension he is dreaming. If its in the rear its most likely in the rockers and floors. Its a shame because the car is really original.By the time he welds, paints, interior he might as well buy a nice rust free one.Just my 2 cents, mike...

Did the original guy really drive the car about 50 miles & park it? Did you still get to sell it?
