After a long Canadian winter, I finally got the ol'e cat on the road today.
I wasn't too keen on the yellow engine bay, so I welded filled all the holes and went with black satin.
I replaced the old Haltech efi with a new FAST system and replaced the old Wilwood pads and rebuilt the front calipers.
Threw in some stainless pieces as well.
Joseph made up some new ss ram tubes as well.
The car has a base program in it but is going in tomorrow for final dyno tuning.
It was a good day. This is the before shot....

Will,

I have to admit I was sceptical when you said you were going from a painted engine bay back to flat black, but it looks awesome, and the engine stands out against it much better.

That's a whole new set of 180's too isn't it? Who supplied them?

Julian
The chrome/alum stands out much more against the black. I wanted to paint it gloss black, but was not able to get it to a paint shop in time.
The 180's are from Byers Bros'; Precision Proformance
With the bay painted black, I can now paint the car any color and not have to repaint the engine area.
Yes, I've got to cut the deck lid. Not a big deal. This car is far from original.
Thanks for the compliments guys.

Looks great! I hear ya about your choice of car color without messing with the engine bay repaint at anytime. I saw an orange car at our Cars & Coffee done the same black engine bay and the contrast was dope...as Randy Jackson would say. You sure you want to cut the decklid, man that hurts. Can't you just lower the stacks...see link below: http://www.poca.com/index.php/gallery/?g2_itemId=3460
Yep. I want to see the stacks when the decklid is down.
I know, I know...I have a very rare low-profile IR system and I'm raising it when most are trying to stay low. I usually go against the grain anyway Wink
It'll be a GR4 clone next year, btw. Short and fat. Just the way I like them. Reminds me of the girls I dated in high school.
Will
Looks outstanding, can't wait to see the car in-person!

I changed my oil - that has to count for something Wink
