or... do I really need a 9th combustion chamber??

I'm interested to hear advice on mounting FI injectors inside the plenum of my Ford Motorsport Hi-rise intake. The runners measure 1-3/8 x 2-3/8 inside where they meet the plenum. I suspect the injectors could radially mount a 1 inch tall, 2 inch diameter, cylindrical fuel manifold mounted and fed through the plenum floor. Can injectors survive the fuel environment? Impede air flow? ...They would block some of the runner opening. Would they be too far from the heads?
Could it work?
Am I out to lunch? Usually.

By your question I assume you want to run throttle-body F.I without running throttle plates on your OEM intake, for some reason. TBI injectors are vastly different from individual injectors; unless you run 8 of them, you'll be spending money in the wrong areas IMHO. By getting a Holley Pro-jection or equivalent system, the whole thing will bolt on like a flat carb, so the intake won't be altered if thats your concern. Or maybe we don't understand your objective here.....
