Yes- bend the arm CAREFULLY! The long steel rod is pretty hard and will crack at the existing tight right-angle bend where the rod goes into the plastic sender module, so don't just grab & twist! And while you have the assembly out, check the float for gas inside. The OEM floats (also used in FIATS & Alfas) were hollow cylindrical while many of the repro senders use a solid rectangular float.
I've run into this with the replacement pickup/sender from Wilkinson.

The new one isn't calibrated to the tank and sender. It has the solid nitrofil float on it.

It took me a while to figure that out and the best way to do it is use the Bosswrench method of removing the rear driver side window.

So the instructions from me are not to bend it, "calibrate" the arm. Wink

There are no instructions from Wilkinson. His response was "what?" "huh?"
