Well Larry, DeTomaso probably had some of that gold paint left over after he got donepain't all them wheels for the Group IV cars. I imagine th guy who ordered my car from the factory, had seen one of them running at LeMans that year and went down to the DeTomaso factory and had lunch with ALejandro and said "Alex, I was real impressed by your car at LeMans this year and I want to get me one of them." BUt he probably test drove a Group IV and didn't like the fact it didn't have AC or radio, or even upolstery. So he probably ordered up the GTS decked out just the way he wanted it over a glass of wine and maybe some of that brie cheese. He got thetop of theline banklumpt stereo, a dandy quartz movement clock, and GOLD wheels. The guy who ordered my car had a sense of panauch and style. I am greatful he did.
