If you have thought about upgrading to Group 4 tail lights but the vendors just want to put you on their 'waiting list', now is the time to stop waiting and actually get them.

I currently have seven L/R sets of housings, both used/restored and NOS, both Carello and Altissimo.

I have NOS lenses with perfect chrome, and excellent/restored lenses with poor chrome that would be perfect for the 'blacked out' look.

These will be showing up on eBay in the near future as I get them ready, but if you want to make your choice now at an agreed price, drop me an email or a phone call.

How much ?

Short answer - $400 - $475

Vendors do NOT have these in stock for sale. That includes, Pantera East, Hall, Wilkinson, Byars and Quella.

I have used/restored housings/lenses sets, and NOS Carello sets. Have sold three sets this week, inventory is shrinking, but more shipments are being awaited.

Please contact me off list for details, photos and descriptions.

Robert,

What, you think the price is high?

Byars website lists sets at $450. You'll pay tax and s/h on top of that. But wait, they don't...have...any.

PIM used to list lenses only, yup, lenses ONLY, at $399. But wait, they don't...have...any.

Remember those two-color GT5 turn signals you bought from me? For a lot less than the $260 I paid a vendor for my set? I can do that because I actually managed to find a source for them at a far more decent cost.

I'd sell the GRP4 sets for less if I could. But when I pay up to $100 for one used/damaged housing with a lens that turns out to be junk, and then have to invest 2-3 hours in restoring that one housing....

As far as I know, I am the only source for NOS or fully restored Group 4 lights.

I've sold three sets this week, at $400 - $475.

That tells me my pricing is fair.

For those that aren't still listening to that dropped pin bounce on the floor, I still have an absolutely beautiful, dark amber NOS set of Carellos in the garage. $475 - s/h included.

Guys,

The subject of Group 4 tail lights has come up quite a bit in recent previous posts, they do seem to becoming more and more popular, while less and less are avilable. As always a supply and demand situation will dictate price to a great extent.

You have to admit Larry does all the leg work and a good job to find them, ship and restore them and naturally has a premium for doing that as a side business.

I divulge nothing new and that hasn't been said before when I say that with a little knowledge and if you are prepared to do that leg work yourself, plus have the skills for some minor restoration you can find them cheaper.

Both the 'Carello' and 'Altissomo' version lights were used on the Alfa Berlina 1750 of aroud 1969/70 and the Zagato. Search the Alfa sites and eBay European (particularly UK and Italy) sites for 'Berlina' 'Carello', Altissimo'. Many of the Alfa guys are unaware of the Pantera connection. You may also want to consider collecting incomplete sets/lenses over time to put together a good full set.

I got my first complete set of Carello's last December in a reasonable condition for $100 from AZ, simply by searching on www.myalfa.com. I have another set of Altissimo's from eBay UK at $180 (all in inc. shipping).

Just depends how much leg work you are willing to do and how much your time is worth. If its worth a lot and you aren't prepared to do restoration, go see Larry and pay up the money.

Good luck

Yup, that works-eventually. But it will take HOURS of your time and patience and will probably cost more than just coming to me. That NOS left side you find for only $150 may not match the amber color of the NOS $175 right side you buy later. You're now out $325, and still no good set. You can't really tell true color or condition from an eBay ad, and the Google translator only works so well when trying to 'talk' with a non-English-speaking seller. Wink Ask me about the two 'new' and two 'used' housings that all turned out to be heavily used. Mad I just unwrapped an obviously NOS Carello assembly, but the chrome on the lens was so poor that it is only suitable for a blacked-out application.

And by the way, I have NEVER seen an NOS set of L/R assemblies (Carello or Altissimo) in over 18 months of actively doing this.

My Group 4 tail lights are here for those that want them, my pricing is fair, and everything I sell is fully guaranteed to meet your expectations or all your money back - cheerfully.

I've sold twelve sets so far - none have been returned.

Larry
