Guages vs Guages

Neither, sorry. Stock 2 1/16 inch sized chrome bezeled Veglia Borletti gauges. Some quick searching on Google should provide you with images for the stock gauges.

Wow thanks forthright input. Both the white and the green script guages say veglia. I wonder if they changed to no the factory.may as well put the green in next weekend as they seem to be most common. Dc

Is that a case of Dyslexia or just thinking you saw what you were expecting, not what was there.

Now, the question is why have two sets of gauges?

Not seeing things, box says VDO, guage says Veglia.........

Almost on topic Question: Why the heck did they leave the Oil Pressure Gauge at the lowest (out of sight) position. I see that is the standard position. I moved my Oil Pressure Gauge to the top taking into account that it the most important one to scan.

These are what are currently in 4072.......guess they need to go

So it looks like someone neatly stored the original gauges in the VDO boxes when they switched to aftermarket. I'd go back to original and upgrade the bulbs to LED.

There is only one reason to run ANY kind of gauge in a car: to get information on some parameter important to the driver. So accuracy is required and some of the stock gauges are known to be 'less than accurate' for a host of reasons. If you're going to replace gauges, check their accuracy. You may wind up swapping gauge faces for a stock look with improved accuracy.

Oil pressure and water temps are the two most generally inaccurate stock gauges.

Don't forget about the sending units. If the sending units have been swapped out with the gauges changing back could cause false readings. See this link The Pantera Water Temperature Gauges

I just saw where Pantera Electronics has a gauge compensation circuit for the 260F gauges.
