Mr Cat,

perhaps you're unaware, typing in all caps is considered yelling.

Mr Carlini was an executive working under Lee Iacoca, both at Ford & Chrysler. Yes he had 4 Panteras shipped to America in the eighties. A member of this BB, technosound, owns one of them, as far as I know. He's probably going to be your best source for info here, unless Kirk Evans has info. Kirk also particpates here, though less frequently.

your friend on the DTBB

Hank was a good friend of mine and lived in Italy during the Ford Pantera aria. I spent many hours with him at the Detomaso factory talking car stuff and he was the main reason Chrysler bought Lamborghini. I remember driving by the Lambo factory to get pictures way before the buy out deal was inked. He ran the show car program for Chrysler---got Metal Crafters in California there start---had many of Chryslers best show cars built including the Viper. List is to long. What would you like to know?

Kirk
Hank brought in more than 4 cars---some indirectly. I think the 4 your talking about were 1 stock body, 1 GT5 and 2 GT5-S cars. I devolved and AmeriSport emission system on Hanks red GT5 along with a blue GT5 of my own. His first red GT5-S #9379 was repainted by us in 85 and sold. The black 5-S was the last Cleveland powered car the factory sold and ended up in Puerto Rico in 88.

Hank dyed several years ago. He was a great guy and was a big help to me during the AmeriSport project. Hank also brought Shelby into Chrysler in the 80s, was in charge on the TC proto-type and often road into the display area of the Chrysler display area showing the top guns like Bob Lutz the new concept cars. Lee would drive and Hank would climb out of the passenger seat. This was a bit of problem for some in the corporate wigs of the company. Got many stories about this stuff---some fun---some not so fun.

Off the topic---I went to Chrysler many times and was fortunate to meet Bob Lutz and devolved a personal relationship with him. He is a real car guy---bought one of my Lamborghini replica engines for him office and we talked cars many hours. I built the Chrysler Patriot electric race cars turbo alternator engine and took installed it at the Reynard race car factory in England----great fun.

Hope this helps.

Kirk
