Hi All,

I became intested in the PANTERA just recently when on a Lamborghini forum.
The guys there agreed that because I want to be able to work on a car with
my 22 yr old that a PANTERA could not be beaten. The more I delved into it
the more it became obvious that those guys were right. And there's no loss of
performance either, and in many cases the FORD powered machine kills the
competition. So, I've read a lot of posts/threads here and posted a few times
too. It's been great so far. I look forward to meeting some of you guys and
introducing my son Kurt to you and maybe the little guy too, Dean, (9yrs old).
{I am 50 now, and have never had a car that has been interesting/exciting.}
CfH posted about this idea of pounds per HP and compared it to cars doing 0-
60 in 3.5 secs etc. and that really lit me up. I think the fastest that I'd heard
of for a street car is 2.9, but I can't recall what car that was. Any way I'm real-
ly enjoying myself here and I expect that will just keep getting better. Thanks
very much for all that you're all sharing!!! applause

Hi there- You'll find that we are a tolerant group to play cars with, and bend over backwards to get anther happy camper out on the road in a DeTomaso. Before you spend any cash on goodies, call up the Forum and ask about your wants- it may be that someone here has already wandered down that path and can give good advice. Be aware that Jersey Panteras chapter of POCA is literally in your back yard, and sponsors a couple of events each year at Pocono Racetrack. They get a hundred or so of your neighbors to these weekend family events. Your contact will be Tony Digiovanna via in Denville, NJ. Welcome aboard.
Welcome to the family Jack! It will be a great adventure with your son. I'll have to try that with my wife... "Honey, we need to buy another Pantera so my son and I can work on it together." Oh wait, I already have one that's not running at the moment (in the middle of an engine rebuild). Ha!

Anyway, here are some useful resources in your search for your Pantera:

Hi Jack, I'm not in New Jersey, but I appreciate your enthusiasm.

These are great cars. Fun to work on (okay, except for the stuff you can't get to) and very rewarding to own. Had mine for about 4 years and its never boring.

The folks on this board are beyond helpful.

Enjoy the ride... even when you're not riding!
