How to Avatar...

I have a photo of my car to use as an Avatar. I can get to the section of the personal profile where I can choose a Custom Avatar, but it asks for a URL. (here's where we find out the real problem...computer ignorance on display) I assume I have to publish my photo to a site which attaches an address to it, then call up that address for the photo to load to this board. Is that how it works? If so, can someone contact me and walk me through it? I really don't know where to go to do this. I've sent photos in E-Mails and to E-Bay, but this process is new to me.
Then again...maybe my assumptions on how this works are all wrong! Help!

Michael,

Once you've selected "custom avatar" there are two choices in the pop up window, "URL for your custom avatar" OR "Upload custom avatar".

URL for custom avatar is pre-selected when the window opens, simply place your cursor on the second option (Upload custom avatar) and left click, you will then be given the option to browse your computer and upload the picture directly from your computer.

There is no need to post the picture on a photo hosting server.

Any further problems, e-mail the pic to me and I'll gladly add it to your member profile for you.

Dont't feel bad, lack of computer know seems to be pretty common. Starting with myself as a prime example. I've been using computers for years and still have to ask how for anything new! Lucky for us, we have quite a few experts among our group, like George, who never fail to come up with a solution.
