Hi, my pantera has the timing too retarded, i believe, the timing marks are they on the balancer like a anormal clevland ? or is there something on the flywheel for easy access ?
if on the balancer then it is a seat out job !!

Also where is the engine number on these ? is it the standard spot, above the fuel pump ??
as my guy will need to read it for registration.

Thanks in advance.

The marks on the balancer.

I did mine with the seats in and using a xenon timing light.

This means having the engine running and the back of the right hand seat is very close to the alternator. So if you lean on the seat back it will get chewed up by the alternator fan Eeker

So it's quicker to leave the seats in, but easier and safer to take them out.

I have since read on this forum that the timing marks should not to be trusted. So you should check with a dial gauge in No 1 plug hole before you trust them.

Alternatively George described a way of setting the timing without using the marks - a search of the forum should find it.
