Hurricane Harvey has begun swiping the Texas coast. Areas most impacted are north and west of the hurricane's eye. The coastline most impacted appears to be from Galveston south to Brownsville. The hurricane shall come ashore at Corpus Christi where the most damage is expected. It will impact cites as far inland as San Antonio and Houston, plus the surrounding areas. Winds are currently 110 mph. 35 inches of rain and "catastrophic" storm-surge flooding are predicted. Landfall is expected late Friday or early Saturday.

I would like to echo Mark's sentiment, be safe everyone, you're in our thoughts.

Thanks Joe, appreciate the support! We are OK and the Kingwood Pantera's are currently above water level. Even have power and internet at my home. Although it has been off and on.

Fairing better than most. Our rain gauge has shown 24" of rain. Keeping our finger's crossed this stops before long.

Other Pantera's in Houston and the local area are threatened. They are predicting many more inches and the place can drain just so fast.
...luckily my brother was in town, at 4am the water was not a threat, but 2 hours later Buffalo bayou (he lives on the bank overlooking Memorial park) had risen -5 feet- and was leaking into the basement garage where '1076 parks. So he moved the goose and '28 Chevy to higher ground, it is safe--but apparently, still a few feet of water in the basement garage. The sun has come out, the rain has stopped, and his bobcat is finally Not the scourge of his neighbors (as he just cleared wreckage off the street so cars can leave the "island..."). So yes, a lot of mess to clean up, but the car is safe!

I would hate to hear of even one sodden Cat.

Be careful, and move swiftly (which means early) if needed.

You know we would do whatever we can to help, but it's really in your hands!

Rocky

The Arizona SAR team that I am on is scheduled to leave for the Houston on Friday. I certainly can't help rescue any Panteras, but I would if I could.
