Left the Back to the Bricks in Flint yesterday afternoon to make a run to Woodward. While cruising south on I75 at 70 mph I saw a newer Corvette (exposed headlights) coming up on me. First time I have had a fairly open road with a new vette coming up beside me so I was going to take advantage of this. I dropped 1717 into 3rd gear and let the, as I saw now convertible, get beside me. The vettes driver was looking over at me, and I at him. I let him get the start and I let the hammer fall. The black vette got a small jump on me since I waited for him to start this altercation(LOL). Then we started to pull ahead of the vette, MAN what a feeling a brand new badass vette and we were PULLING away from him hard. Then as 1717 was half a car ahead the guy in the vette let out of it. You could see the nose of the vette drop has he slowed.
I let out of 1717 as I got back to fifth gear and was back at my cruising speed of 70 or so. When the vette cruised by us this time I was giving the guy a thumbs up for the fun...he wouldnt even look at me this time. Of course I was all smiles that a 36 year old cat could put a hurting on a new vette! Im sure a Z06 would be a differant story. Make note: Find Z06 on interstate.
What a blast!
To all the guys at Woodward yesterday. Sorry I could not get to 15 mile. We did the loop in Pontiac and got about two miles south of the police station, the stop and go traffic was brutal and we decided to go back to the Bricks in Flint. It was a amazing sight, my first trip to the Dream Cruise.
Quick note. By 2:00 the Bricks had seen over 5000 cars and over 30,000 people.

Sure enough, There I am cruising about 80 when I look to the right and a black Vette with exposed headlamps is coming down the ramp and onto the interstate behind me. I watch my mirror as his front end lifts a little and he starts to gain on me. Well I did not wait for him to get next to me... I just stuck it in 4th and nailed it up to about buck 30. I was definatly leaving his jurisdiction. The only problem was my old lady was screaming and there was a good bit of traffic, I exersized better judgment and eased off a bit. He slowed too and I LET him by, he was lucky I had my extra baggage in the passenger seat, and other witnesses on the hy. My leg was still shaking and I was enjoying the adreniline rush.. WWWAAAAA!!!

I know the feeling, did you even give him a chance???
The first time I streched out 1717's legs was on my street, the wife( who totally loves this car), about 2 miles from the house. Just sorta putted in first and second. went into third and just gently pushed the accelerator to the floor. Before you know it...well I dont want to give Mark the wrong impression of me.
But Kim was dancing around that seat yelling "THAT THERE ARE DEER ON THIS ROAD!".
So I made her happy. I've only done that twice. Those BFG's are kinda old and I do not trust them. The Karma was in the air this weekend I believe!
