Sadly George, I didn't get to spend but about 30 minutes on Saturday talking to Mark M, and admiring his ride. I made the mistake of bringing the girl friend, who by the way was having a VERY bad day Mad . Not to worry though, I WILL NOT make that mistake twice! Next year, BOYS weekend!

The paint scheme is the old gulf colors, the car only has 16 miles on her, (six from me) the transport company loaded the GT too close to the car in front, and rubbed the front edge of the bonnett raw. Confused
Mark, I too used to do work for the local Ford dealership. I considered it a feather in my cap! There were3-4 cars a month damaged either on the transport of lot. Then they bought another dealership that already had a body shop and they dumped me. It was good while it lasted. Charge them anything you want! That is cool bro'

No Doug, wasn't me, the damn transport companys that Ford uses suck, I repair between 6 to 10 NEW 0 mile cars a week for Santa Margarita Ford.

The GT is not one of those money maker repairs, it's more of a feather in the cap like Bill said. They look pretty, and go like stink, but the repairability of these cars is on the same level as lets say, the Space Shuttle. You know your in for it when the GT tech at the dealer wishes you good luck, and wispers under his breath "your screwed" Eeker

I don't know why I'm grinning so much, it's only mine until the paint work is done. I did get to drive it from the dealer to the shop, maybe thats the reason for the stupid grin!

Ok,give me the scoop.Who's car is it?

Couldn't tell you, I do know it's sold, but they don't give me any details, other than what they want repaired.

What would you think of opening this BB up to owners of the GT?

There's already an entire forum for the GT40 (www.gt40s.com) and it includes sections for the new GT as well. There are a few of us here who live double lives but I'd vote to keep this board all DeTomaso.

These guys are hot for Panteras too. Maybe one will offer me a 2 for one trade.

You're right about GT owners liking the Pantera as well (at least that seems true of GT40 owners). I know where I could find a second Pantera, but I wouldn't trade two Panteras for one Ford GT. Big Grin

No, no, you misunderstood. I meant they trade 2 GT's for my Pantera.
Doug, I knew that was what you meant, I was just having you on.

It will be interesting to see what happens with GT values, but I predict a drop to under 100K in a year or so, and I doubt they'll appreciate to over list for a decade. It's not like there's any racing heritage (yet), and the numbers are not that small by collector standards.
