After break in of new 351 I installed an msd 6al and timing retarder on my mallory unilite dist, engine started and run great, but will continue to run with key off until the brake is pushed. My wiring diagram shows a link between the brake light swiths and the seat belt over ride switch that has long ago been jump wired around. have I done somthing wrong or should I just wire the box directly to the switch?

Along with your MSD, you should have a small diode and instructions for installing it in the circuit. Fan motors etc have enough reverse-current flowing to trigger the MSD indefinitely. It gets boring to kill the engine by letting out the clutch with the brakes locked. And did you add in the adapter so the tach will work? It's extra cost but you do need it. Incidently, MSD has most of these instructions posted on their website.
MSD actually intended the diode supplied with the 6AL to be installed on the #1 pin (the one that runs back to the instrument circuit) of the voltage regulator. As jack pointed out, this still may not solve the problem due to additional back EMI from your fan motors. You may need to isolate the fans with a diode as well to completely stop the run on.
