Installing diode for MSD 6a application

You should use a diod. The small current needed to activate the MSD will otherwise
come from the generator via the charginglamp back to the MSD. Place the diod at the fuse panel at the LB wire, fuse 12.

Thanks for your input, but there is not a LB wire lead on fuse #12. Has anyone sucessfully positioned the diode between the blue side of the charge light bulb and the blue lead going to the regulator.

LB=light blue.This wire attache to the same side of the terminal as the G=green (+ input directly from the ign-key), of the fuse panel. I understand this is what you suggest yourself. Fusepanel is the place where I have my diod. It has served both MSD and fuel injection.

To forestall misunderstandings re wiring changes, be aware that there are at least four (4.0) different Factory wiring diagrams for various years of mfg of Panteras. Fuses are cheap- try your solutions and annotate your personal wiring diagram to fit your Pantera.

I thought Goran M. might have a european car with some slight wiring differences,from my 72 pre-L. Having said that, do you know if my intended wiring of the diode will solve any possible run on.

In my previous posts I have incorrectly referred to wire leading to the regulator from the charging indicator lamp as being Blue-- it is actually Blue/Black. Sorry for any confusion.

I have a diagram here for a 72, if you would like a copy of it. Just mail me at hemipanter@brevet.nu I know cars are different, but dark blue/black goes to the regulator from the lamp. Light blue from the lamp to the fuse panel. I guess those are the colours allways used by the factory.
Regardless of wiring diagram. But as the LB does not use any fuse at the fuse panel and attaches to the other side of the panel, it may be hard to locate.
