I'm thinking about switching from Hagarty to Grundy. It seems like it may save a fair amount per year. Is it a good move? Anyone have any experience with Grundy? I know most have had good ones with Hagarty.

Another place to consider is:

Classic Underwriters
400 Horsham Rd. Suite 121
Horsham PA 19044

Classic Underwriters. P.O. Box 2016.
Horsham, PA 19044.
866-986-3379 (Toll-Free)
267-282-6077 (Philadelphia Metro Area)
267-282-6078 (Fax)

They have been very easy to deal with.

They split off from Grundy.

I must admit, though, I have not had to file a claim....

Having a great agent, low premiums or dealing with a great company can be insignificant if they do not take care of a claim properly or as you would expect.

I think it will be beneficial to speak with people who had collectable car claims.

Just my 2 cents.
Halfway through my second season with Hagerty I got a nasty stone chip in the windshield. Tried a professional resin injection repair, but it cracked, the damage was too close to the edge.
I submitted a claim along with a glass quote (shipping costs included) from Wilkinson, our official DeTomaso importer for the USA. Hagerty issued a check immediately, no questions, no bargain hunting, no bump in my rate.

I'm an Aviation Insurance Agent by trade, but as a courtesy I also handle some of our customer's Antique/Custom/Special Interest cars.

I place all of their, along with my, collector cars with Hagerty. Great company, great claims service. Their Underwriters are all "Car Guys" who truly understand what these cars mean to their owners; most have collector cars of their own. My professional experience with them has been exemplary.
