Shame it's a Chebbie.... but even so I'd love to roll up in Monterey to see the looks of disgust from all the Ferrari owners!
Decades ago at the Ferrari Club/Shelby Club Virginia City (NV) Hillclimb was a guy (Fast Freddy) who had a Ferrari 250 GTE with a small block Chevy. He flew up that hill but, of course, drew the wrath of the Ferrari purists. Of course a stock 250 GTE these days is pretty collectible and I doubt Freddy's is.
I had a similar reaction at VC Hillclimb when I took my Ultima (Ferrari red), the ferrari purists couldn't get over everyone drooling over a 'kit' car. The times I posted, put many of them to rest.

The ultimate in that sort of swap was at the Baja Cantina outside of the Monterey Concorso one year: a kit-Cobra with a Daytona V-12 in it. Neither the Ferrari nor Cobra purists would talk to the owner! I and my hot-rod buddies admired the workmanship & it sounded awesome with short pipes.
Now there's a 308 you can drive and have fun with...
