I have followed this page for a few years because I have alway wanted to own a Pantera (since the first time I saw a picture of one)and I have to say that people like Jack (in particular his answers to the engine change change thread)make the breed continue to live.

I hope to buy one some day soon and want to say that such devotion does not go unappreciated.

Blush, blush. Seriously, Mr Perry, I suggest joining a national club for more information than you thought possible on prose & cons of certain models or years, and lists of website & vendors s that advertise Panteras (or parts) for sale. Your membership will include a local group for camaraderie and possibly tech sessions where we fix someone else's car for him/her. Remember, there's no rational reason for owning one of these cars for basic transportation; you're just in love and need the mutual reinforcement we all use to justify our ownership or these machines.Welcome aboard.
I have owned my Pantera for two years now and am still working on it. A 32 year old car needs some work to perform as expected in Detroit trafic. Thanks to Jack and others, on this site, the task of rebuilding the car has been lessened. I appeciate the direct answers of Jack and the others on this web site. People that express their affileations with others that know nothing of the workings of panteras should please take there opinons off line.
A.K.A. (carnotrun)
P.S. There was a recent posting referencing oil type to use in the pantera, was this a serious posting or a joke? Name dropping has been outlawed hasen't it?
