If a juvenile, the parents are responsible for the cost of the new paint job.
If on welfare, or not currently employed or both, then community service hours based on minimum wage until cost of paint job is reimbursed.
Did I miss any possible repayment scenarios?!
Then in addition to repayment/reimbursement. Community service consisting of 100 hours of working at a local paint & body shop. My rational being that if the offender can develop some respect & admiration for the labour involved in obtaining a quality paint job, that offender would be less likely to key another car
I have 15 Sports cars from a 1991 Ferrari Testarossa to a 1959 Austin Healey BN6 & realize that there will ALWAYS be people that DON'T respect other people's possessions, in this example cars.
I try to minimize my car's exposure to vandalism but realize even with the best precautions taken, even cars get keyed, just like banks get robbed & Presidents get assassinated...Mark
