My father-in-law was palgued with them until he cut back on dairy products of all types. Certainly wouldn't hurt to try that.
Java, I think you might reconsider when you want to curl up and pass out from having one, assuming you've never had one. Sometimes they make you vomit from pain, no joke!
The doc said that some pain meds don't work well if you're in severe pain, and I can back that up. I was shot full of morphine and still woke up screaming, which scared my kids pretty bad.

Seriously, they might tell me that I should cut back on some foods, and I'm willing to cut back if it means I don't have to go thru four weeks of stupid on/off pain, not to mention other unpleasant side-effects. Call me cheap, but I'd rather spend four weeks in pain & on meds than give up a couple thousand (for surgery) that could be spent on other things, such as the Pantera.
I had 4 of them until I realized it was the huge amount of calcium in the TUMS that I used to pop regularly for heartburn. I switched to a prescription for heartburn which I no longer have and in 20 yrs have never had another stone. Still remember the pain though. And the painkillers. And the recovery from addiction after just a few days! Dangerous stuff.

I didn't mean to be insensitive. I have had about 12 kidney stones, and I do really like my wine.
