Yup, the DT Mail List seems to have gone pretty quite too. The only Pantera Fun Rally I attended in Vegas was BEFORE I owned my Pantera. A fellow club member convinced me I needed to go because there were always quality cars for sale at the Vegas event. I made an offer on a 72 Pantera that needed some work on a Friday, which was turned down. So then I called the airlines and booked a 1-way flight to Vegas for 7:00am Saturday morning. The event coincided with Spring Break, so the earliest I could get a flight home was the following Thursday. I went on faith, picked up my rental car, met up with new friends at the Orleans (?) and strolled Fremont Street show. Within 10 minutes of arriving on Fremont Street I found the only 2 club members I knew up to that point (Mike Drew and Chuck Melton) who hooked me up with fellow PCNC members who had vacant passenger seats so I could get a ride home in a Pantera. This was turning out to be a great trip! I didn't stick around Vegas too long though. I left by 11:00am and drove to Phoenix to look at Bill Basore's Maroon 71 Pantera with a flat decklid, which was for sale at the time. I had a great time getting to know Bill and his family, and arrived back in Vegas at about 3:30am Sunday morning. I tooka nap in a truck stop parking lot, returned my retnal car, and hooked up with the Pantera crowd at 8:00 to begin the drive home. The long-distance seat time in two different Panteras on the drive home left me absolutely convinced that a Pantera was the right car! You can read more about my buying adventure on my website:

Here's a clip from 2002, for those of us who aren't there this year:
