This has probably been discussed elsewhere, but I just got my first taste of a 'proper' LED conversion with my Pantera.
My son was following me not long ago and said, 'Dad, I can barely see your brake lights' and he was right. They shone well enough, but the light didn't completely fill the lens.
I had removed them, cleaned, repainted in 'chrome' paint, scuffed the connection socket, replaced the bulbs. They were 'ok' but nowhere near modern standards.
I ordered the Space City set (still awaiting the bulk order) but contacted Jon Haas at Pantera Electronics who provided the ATO fuse upgrade block.
Jon sent me a pair of the 'newly upgraded, new generation' LED brake lights. Being an engineer, he had worked out a rather significant improvement over previous generation LEDs.
In about 4 minutes, I removed the old bulb, installed the new one. The LED side now completely FILLS the entire lens. Even the sides.
While installing the lens, the brake light was 'on' and I honestly could not look at it. Too bright, and I'm not kidding.
It also illuminates FASTER, as advertised. (This is apparently the nature of LEDS.) After leaving the brake lights 'on' for 2 minutes, the incandescent side was seriously warm to the touch, approaching 'hot'. LED side, no heat detected. Like it was off.
Anyway, I'm probably late to the party on this, but I was impressed. And if it'll save some dingaling from mashing the Pantera while I'm in it, a worthy upgrade.

I've no affiliation, and still look forward to getting the other LEDS, but for now, am thoroughly pleased.
