Longchamp ZF Steering Rack

Does anyone know if this model rack was used on any other European car?

Not only am I looking to convert my car from LHD to RHD but at the same time would like to utilise a Euro style steering column with headlight flash capability.

Any help appreciated.

Hello Phil. Is your car considered a Series I with the self-centering style rack? I have never heard of another rack that will work without serious modfication. My rack, a series II was rebuilt and is OK but the ZF PS pump is on the skids. Dave

Hi,

No, my car is an early series 3 model.

At present I have one of the PS pump hoes weeping a little so first job is to replace 'all' hoses associated with the steering to see if that improves the feel.

I am thinking of converting my car to right hand drive and would seriously consider changing the rack for a modern unit and made in aluminum to save some weight.

Do you know if the ZF rack was ever used on another make of car?

Do you have the ZF part number by chance?
