Anybody out there have fewer miles (or kilometers) on their car than I have on mine?

How many times do you see a Pantera with zero miles on the clock???

(Photo taken on the way home from Le Mans last year... I was glad to no longer have to drive backwards to remove the kilometers from the drive up....)

Next time I'll be a little more experienced and will zero out the trip odometer as well... I didn't think of that until later.

With any luck it'll be 5 years!! Although I have my doubts... I used to work for a multinational and had to travel frequently to other European countries... I'd occasionally skip the plane ticket and simply drive the Pantera to, say, Bologna, Italy, or the south of Portugal, or something. That helped rack up the miles!

I'm pretty much staying in one country at a time at the moment, so the majority of the miles come from jaunts to Le Mans, or the International DeTomaso meetings or something...

Let's see now, you snapped that picture while driving 87 MPH. Doesn't appear to me if you continue to drive that fast while not watching the road, that your Pantera will ever get the oppertunity to once again see an odometer full of zeros. Wink
Well, if you want to know the truth, I had actually slowed down considerably to take that picture.

That's one of the nice things I like about living in Europe. As a friend of mine said, gas is really expensive, but they let you burn it more or less as quickly as you'd like!

disclaimer - the photo was obviously taken on a closed circuit and not on any public road, just in case any law enforcement types are reading...

Charlie, clearly you're ZF is mounted differently than mine. I have to drive backwards all the time if I want to use any of my other four reverse gears, and can get up to quite a good clip. Maybe the ZF I got out of that old GT40 wasn't quite an exact drop-in... Big Grin

Charlie,
I have a similar picture taken five years ago at the Las Vegas Fun Rally. Three miles later with the odometer reading 00003, the engine blew up! Of course this was the farthest my car had ever been away from home. I think the engine probably had a 100,000 mile warranty. Smiler
