luggage racks

The rack is removable. There are 4 permanent brackets attached to the deck lid. The rack sort of snaps into place.

Aftermarket. No longer around as new. Show up on eBay now and then. Sell for $200-300 if I remember correctly.

I've noticed the same thing, kinda retro old school, makes you remember this car was built in the early 70's , when you could do that to a Italian sports car, and people thought it was cool.

My car came with the brackets for the luggage rack but without the rack. It looked like a snap in type fit.

i came across this post about luggage racks,i have a rack & a deck lid with holes and no mounts. you mention that you car had the mounts and no rack. do you have the luggage rack mounts ? are they for sale? if not maybe a picture? so that i can recreate them. thanks wade 4280 tucson

FYI,

the rack was originally sold by "Gran Turismo".

A group of the people involved in the Pantera project designed a series of aftermarket parts for the Pantera, the company Gran Turismo was established to market the parts. I have read of both Mind Train & Hall Pantera selling parts that had originally been marketed by Gran Turismo, so one or both companies must have acquired the left over stock when Gran Turismo was closed down.
