Make sure you give the motor a manual spin before your call the oil pan finished. Depending if you have a stroker engine, there could be a clearence issue with the crank scraper on the pan.

I had this issue with my 427 stroker windsor. A little work with a nibbler and file on the crank scraper fixed the problem. Saves headaches later in your project.

Aimed at anyone new to working on motors, this is a good example of proper motor building technique: fit, refit & fit again, until you're sure everything is right, then; and only then; you can do the final assembly.
