I just woke my daughter (she's 9) and asked her - in her groggy state - "If you're in a car driving 80 Miles Per Hour, how long will it take to drive 80 miles?"
She started to give a wrong answer but quickly caught herself and said "One hour."
She did this incredible bit of math in her head with no mechanical assistance, and with the added challenge of being a Canadian where MPH is a foreign concept, we talk KPH up here
To be fair, my 8 year old was stumped, but I only gave him one chance (not 5-minutes) before my 11 year old chimed in with the answer. My 14 year old expressed concern about traveling at 80mph and the time lost from being caught by the police. I pointed out that in this hypothetical situation we're not driving a white GT5 in Quebec, so the chances of being pulled over are minimal, at which point he conceded that it would only take an hour.
Thanks for sharing that George
