Lol, been traveling so haven't had a chance to check back.
I never did find out the new ratio, it has been changed, I just don't know what to.
I honestly would have been happy if it had a dinky 351C in it.
Lol
I got lucky when this beasty cameup for sale, the guy selling it had sold me a '69 XR7 a couple years prior and we were able to work a deal.
To get the 427 to fit, aside from a custom bellhousing, the entire tranny has been shifted back 3". There is a slight rake to the halfshafts from the tranny out to the hubs.
I'm going to get it out either tommorow or Fri. I'll get a couple of pictures of the custom spacer mounts.
I don't have the dyno sheets here at the house, but if I remember right, peak trqe wasabout 590 and HP was 495. Can't remember the RPM for each.
She does like to heat up in traffic, but once in the open cools down. I'm going to pull the bulkhead and check, but the way the temp. fluctuates I don't think there is a thermostat installed. I think it will help once I get one in there. Common misconception is that a thermo. is there to help build heat when it's cold. It also helps keep coolant in the radiator long enough to allow it to exchange heat from the motor before traveling back in.
Going to change all the belts and stuff as well while I'm in there.
I really want to get down to 'Vegas with it, still not a sure thing, but I'm trying.
I just went through 'Vegas Tuesday on the way home saw a couple Panteras on trailers headed down already.
