I remember that car and the article, which had some funny lines.

That lady, who was known as "Bagheera" or something equally mysterious, was said "...to have been focused on something past the author, such as the horizon". (From memory, please cut major slack.)

Seems the car was a Stauffer import. Anyway, it was one of the last contemporary Pantera articles I recall. Wasn't fully complimentary, but the car was still fast and gorgeous, which is more that could be said of many things in that era, Bagheeera excepted.

Bagheera (Hindi: बघीरा / Baghīrā) is a black panther (black Indian leopard) who is a fictional character in Rudyard Kipling's Mowgli stories in The Jungle Book (coll. 1894) and The Second Jungle Book (coll. 1895). The word bāgha (Hindi: बाघ) means "tiger" in Hindi.

Slack given. With WW as the author, it's not known if it is a put down or not? Probably more of a suggestion that the car is a cartoon character that doesn't really exist in reality? (or maybe just shouldn't exist?)

I think I recall that car specifically and speaking with George Staufer in person about it? I want to say I remember the window sticker and it was $79,000?

I'm still looking for where I put those slides?

It was "grey market" and there was some question about US certification. When I asked, George smiled and shrugged his shoulders?

If I remember correctly, it was sitting right next to the Gp4 race car with those crazy "all crinkled" up stainless 180 headers on it? My brain was having difficulty allowing me to form speach patterns?

George understood and smiled. He was/is as much of an enthusiast as a car dealer and absolutely the nicest guy I ever met.
