It's not the tach I'm worried about at this point.
It's making sure I have the MSD wired correctly so the car will run.

I have seen 2 variations to hook it up.

One is Red & Black wires from the MSD6A to the positive side of the blaster 2 and Orange & White to the negitive side of the blaster 2.
Larger gauge red wire, constant power, to the larger gauge red wire on the MSD6A
Black ground from the MSD6A grounded to the motor.

White wire coming from the Tach Adapter 8290 to the Tach inpute side of the MSD6A
However, my purple wire is connected to a clip which goes into the fire wall which is connected to 2 blue wires of which one has a black stripe. The other side of this clip has a samll red wire which isn't connected to anything coming out of the clip.

Now I am hearing there is another way to hook it up.

Black to - on the coil.
Orange to + on the coil
Red to ignition (hot in on and start)
White not used
Heavy black to ground
Heavy red to constant hot wire
Tach output to tach adapter (8920)

Tach adapter
White to tach output on MSD box
Red to tach
Black to ground

Can anybody shed some light on this ?
Looks Wrong by the diagram! From the firewall: Did I read it right that The (Plain) Light blue wire and The blue wire/with a black stripe are connected together?? If so, this could nock out your tach, as the Light Blue Is the resister wire from the Ignition switch "On/Run" position that should go to you MSD 12 VOLTS Positive. The Blue/Black wire is the Tach Signal Lead that would have normally gone to the Negitive Side of the coil, but now would go to the Tach out signal of the Tach ADAPTER. Good-Luck, Marlin.
With the help of Gary Herrig over the phone, I hooked it as follows:

Black to - on the coil.
Orange to + on the coil
Red to ignition (hot in on and start)
White not used
Heavy black to ground
Heavy red to constant hot wire
Tach output to tach adapter (8920)

Tach adapter
White to tach output on MSD box
Red to tach
Black to ground

Started right up, tach works and Ya Baby........down the road we went.

Thanks everyone for your inpute and help.
I would also like to thank Chuck for his help and calls back and forth to try and figure it out.

Thanks guys, I very much appreciate your help.
