I started out, just going to paint under the front deck, then figured I might as well paint the top too, then I got to looking at the rear deck, then figured if I wanted any of it to match I might as well paint the whole car....this is how I am doing it....in 10 days or less.

Multi tasking......while somthing is drying..somthig elese is being done. ..plus I don't have to send my pics off to be developed. I figured once that i could fix 2 cars in just about the same time it takes to do one.....Just talking panel repairs. Let's see your compartment Mark...how is it coming?
You are doing the right thing...get all that stuff out of there and get a gallon of stripper...only in a well ventilated area...because I think I breathed too many fumes today...I am adding pics every day. Now I got 9 days left. Nobody will bring their car to my shop Thanksgiving week...right? Man I got this thing spread all over the shop..and now it's getting dusty too. I'll take it outside tomarrow and blow stuff off.. Check back!
great pics Bill, great idea to document the work & share it with us. What a way to contribute to the BB! Thanks millions my friend. Or as Carl Sagan would have said, thanks billions and billions.

Mark, Bill's source of energy allowing him to work & post pictures at the same time is the buttery nipple. Buttery nipples yesterday, today he's decided to paint his Pantera in 10 days!

your friend on the DTBB, George
I went back in the booth....I have a few dust nibs here and there. Nothing I can do about it now. If you think you are going to paint and be perfert clean, you really do intend to, it just don't happen. I hate to buff. It will look better at midnite going a 100 mph from the drivers view. I need to think on this a while...see ya''ll at the Pub.
Bill, Hadn't had a chance to get back to you yet, but LOVE the photos. I love doing that kind of work on one condition. I get it right the first time. I re-painted the lid on my MGB trunk 3-4 times and when it is all said and done, I might need to do it again (it's not perfect). I love doing it the 1st time. The 3rd time get's a little old.

Gary
LOL, Are you kidding? I have been tinkering with my linkage for a long time and it still ain't right. A linkange re-design is on my to do list!

Focus is 50%. Willing to jump in over your head with out ever looking back is the other 50%!

Well, looks like I have 4 days to spare!.That should give me plenty time to repaint the hood..There are a couple of fish eyes where the paint is too thin to buff. No big deal, belive it or not I have had to repaint before. I hope you all appreciate my hosenty, I make mistakes like everybody. I just don't let them hold me back. I took what I learned from the hood and applied it to the body of the car. 1. Make sure there is enough paint to buff. 2. clean the crap out of the booth. 3. clean the car welll too, plus I grounded it with a wire attached to bare metal and a natural gas line. I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I have. Now it's time to detail some of the parts that go back on. I'll keep posting, Maybe under another topic. CIAO!

Congratulations Bill!

Great job. I like the pic with your wife & the car and your comment.

Hey everybody, you would pay $25 or more at a book store for a "How To" book on painting your auto, this was free! And you can add a post and ask the author any questions you may have.

I think what Bill has done is excellent, I'd like to see more step by step picture albums on the bulletin board, how about you?

Thanks LPB!

George
This could of been a five day repaint if it wasn't so well documented. Has to be one of the best post of all time. Bill maybe its time to add the group 4 fenders.
