Hey guys, I'm finally coming out of the closet as a Pantera lover. I retired last April and this secret craving have me looking further into these cars and the builds etc. Needless to say, I have been reading, reading and yet some more reading. I haven't seen anything negative. Since I am a tinkerer and do my own maintenance this car should be a breeze to maintain (no dropping engines to change belts etc). My last home grown car was a Mustang Indy 5.0 Pace Car factory rep.

I am by no means a purist so I love the GT5-S clones. I also am a bit superficial and get a boner everytime I see a picture of a red or yellow GT5-S. I've even considered purchasing a $40K car (there are a few out there for sale) and getting the mods done since I have the time now. But nothing beats a complete car that someone else has laboured with.

So for the next little while, please excuse the stupid questions that I may ask from time to time.

If the bad guy in "Banzai Runner" had one of those, it would have made the movie last a few minutes longer - because it would have taken Dean Stockwell that much longer to catch him, switch cars with him, run him off the road, and watch his car blow up.

Thanks Odin. I do feel extremely welcomed here.

I recognize "Belgiumbarry" as a 928 racer owner from another forum for 928s where we are both members.

These cars came from a simpler time, hence my love for the Pantera. However the 928 was the bastard child of that era. It is probably the cheapest supercar (based on performance) that money can buy BUT this car can be extremely difficult and frustrating to work on and maintain if certain upgrades aren't done properly. The ability to curse and swear frequently are steps found in many DIY manuals. Beer drinking also helps a lot.

Too funny!
