Whose GT5S is that? Lowered and a flatter front!!! Air bags?? Any other reference pics?

That looks like Jan Taraszkiewicz's (Does200 on this forum) 1972 Hall Ultra Pantera GT5S 725 HP Show Car, possibly at Cars & Coffee in Irvine.

The front spoiler on the black Pantera, makes it almost UNDRIVEABLE!! with 2 inches of ground clearance....my question....WHY!!!!!.....Mark

It is on bags, so it lifts for driving.

Air suspension would be disgusting for decent handling.
Certainly not suited to a performance sports car.
Air contains moisture, so it’s not a consistent springing medium.
It gets really hot with compression & thus starts to expand & change characteristics.
Nitrogen is much better for an “air shock” but only really suited to either very lightweight vehicles or vehicles that have low suspension frequencies, (eg:like a rock crawler).

The new Porsche 911 GT3 has an air lift in it's front suspension. It can lift up to 30MM (1.18") if necessary. Click here

The new Porsche Panamerica Turbo has a Full Air Suspension, no springs.

Air lift & Air suspension are two different things.
I would imagine Porsche use Nitrogen as the springing medium & air just to raise or lower the car.
So the "air lift" does not compress with suspension travel, it's function is just to jack the car to the correct ride height.

Many companies sell shocks as an "Air shock",(Kings, Fox etc) but they don't actually contain air.
They use Nitrogen as the spring.

Just to be clear, I thought I remembered a discussion about that car and someone said it was on bags. My comment is based on a recollection, not gospel.

Yeah, has front air bags & drives like a charm. Maybe because I drive with it almost flat with just a touch of air in it from the button, so I can catch da road kill while crusin. I just kick it up a notch for the speed bumps & such, then sling it back to the ground. Then when parked I jump it a few times like George shows, just for da homies in da hood.

Jan, The angle of the pic on the "Nitto" site give the impression the car scrappes the ground.

This is what the Air Ride system looks like on my black car, so I suppose it is considered air bag.
