Non carpet floor covering?

Spray on bed liner, for pick up truck beds is becoming very popular. Problem is the sheetmetal work in there was never intended to be seen.

while the "look" I am wanting is reduce weight, I still was thinking sound/heat deading blankets. I haven't search yet but I'll assume there is something better than jute.

and the bare metal would still be too hard of a look.

For what you're describing, possibly an indoor/outdoor carpet. It has a rubber backing with a short pile carpet. It would be lighter than the regular automotive carpeting. Probably available at the "big box" store Home Depot.

That is a serious diet if sacrificing the weight of the carpet makes a difference.

There are a lot of good sound deadening materials available these days, depending whether you want a combination of sound & heat insulation; Dynamic Controls (Dynamat), Boom Mat A search at somewhere like Summit Racing or Jegs will bring up plenty of choices and their own brands too.

Also spray on sound deadening e.g. Lizard Skin
