I am looking at purchasing a Pantera. I would like to validate that the car has the orginal engine and trans. What is the proper method to verify this?

You'll find that matching numbers really doesn't mean as much as compared to the importance of them for Corvettes for instance. What you are looking for is a rust free car with good mechanicals. Do a search on this BB for further discussions on car purchases. Also, if you haven't already done so, look at the Pantera Owners Club of America (POCA) site for links to sites for owners who have been through "THE SEARCH".
I agree with you that the car above all else needs to be rust free, I am interested in validating the numbers of it. How is this best done?
