Is it possible to remove and replace the oil pan in the car, and if so how difficult is it?

Of course, but not unless the rear crossmember has been updated to the factories latest design, that is, removeable. The e-brake bracket must also be cut free & a piece of angle-iron added to make it a bolt-in, too. All early Panteras had the crossmember & e-brake bracket welded in place. Some stubborn types have removed the pan with these parts welded in place in place, but they spent far longer than it would have taken to cut the crossmember & bracket off, & either make them bolt-in, or buying a ready-made kit from the vendors. The pan comes off forward due to the front-mounted oil pump. If you have a 10-qt oil pan (and all Panteras should have one), it is flat impossible to pull such a pan without removing the bracket & crossmember due to the pan baffles inside. And don't even consider driving a Pantera with the crossmember cut away & not replaced. That is the only brace between the lower rear a-arms so the frame will flex terribly, making the car literally unsafe to drive.
