I recall reading a story about this car, it was commissioned by someone and made at the factory, so in respect of being original the statement may be correct.

In 1970, such wide street tires were unavailable, so the home made fender flairs would have been even more ridiculous back then. Don't show this to T Tjaarda as he's getting on in years.....
