Is there anyone out there who has done this? I gotta find a way to get more right knee room under the wheel. It's making me more nuts then I already am. Help!

Before you go to all that trouble, what diameter wheel are you now using? Smaller wheel=more room. You also could go to the 'D' shaped wheel that is made by some wheel companies; flattened on the bottom=more room. Changing the column means you also get to re-wire the ignition, the horn, turn signals, high beam switch. I'd spend serious time looking at wheel options first.

Didn't Grant Steering wheels make a univeral one?
I figure that really all that needs to be done is to offset the steering wheel mount at the dash mounting about 1-1/2" to the drivers left. I've got a 13" Lecarra wheel already. Maybe moving the wheel closer to the dash would help too. The problem with that is the Lecarra adaptor is cast, not machined and won't take to slicing and dicing kindly and it's like the "horse of a different color", "there's only one of 'em, and 'ee's it!".
Doug, And everybody else too. Larry Finch LF-TP showed me this. Cut the lower corner off your brake pedal. This has made a huge difference in driving comfort. You don't have to hold your ankle and foot "just right" to move it around. If you don't have yours cut. Do it now Smiler It costs nothing. Just protect your eyes, when I cUt mine I had to go the optomitrist to get a piece of meatl out of my eye. Thanks Larry! Big Grin

this might work depending on shoe size; loosen the 4 bolts 2 hex/ 2 shcap holding the column to the bottom of the dash, the front 2 the most , place a 1/4 inch shim [washers ] here . retighten bolts . this brings the wheel up @ 1/2 inch but eats up some toe room by the pedals.the ujoints dont seem to mind the different angles.
