Hello Fellow Enthusiasts; I just had an Extremely Pleasant & VERY Informative hour long phone call with the owner of the White DeTomaso Pantera for sale at Beverly Hills Auto Club...

here is just a little history of the Pantera...

To mix things up a little and add some color lets visit Bonneville during Speedweek in 1981 (DOT_733). Michael DiGonis out of Jamaica, New York entered the MD Engineering Company Pantera in Class C Grand Touring. Powered by a 351″ Ford, he was after the Kehoe-McKinney-Banks record of 187.643 mph set in ’79. Mike managed to run a quick 184.985 mph for a third in class while fellow competitor Chuck Greenman claimed a first at 198.216 and bump the record to 201.213 mph. To connect this shot to today the McKinney mentioned above is Duane and he still owns the car that set the 187.643 mph record back then. A check of the current rule book shows his “Sundowner” Corvette holds three records and his son set two of them. The car runs a turbo these days and has owned the C record since ‘06 with a speed of 248.028 mph or about 60 mph faster than in ‘81.
