Comment: All three of the above cars were earlier placed at auction on eBay! and received bids far less than the final sales price, no reserve was met. As a result of the sales at PI Motorsports, Inc., the owners cleared more money with less hassle, aggravation and stress even after all commissions and fees were paid. Don't lose money on your sale, especially if you have a nice car. PI Motorsports, Inc. sponsors this Bulletin Board and is the sales leader of Panteras. Please email, call or drop by our showroom and find out for yourself. Thank you.

I have observed the many nice Panteras offered for sale by consignment and otherwise. There is a listed price but "the prices displayed in our advertising do not include DMV fees, document fees or sales tax. These charges will be added to the purchase price." Why not list the final asking price including all this stuff (or without taxes because we can look these up for any state) so a guy knows how much to write the final check for? In this electronic age, any offer can be broken down through a spreadsheet back to the seller and agent to see if they will receive an acceptable return. Knowing the fianl cost up front would give a clearer picture to prospective buyers on what we will have to pay to own one of these beauties.
Your question is a good one. In California, where we are located, a California resident must pay certain sales taxes, DMV fees and document fees. Our sales tax varies from county to county and the tax basis that is applied is figured on the rate where the buyer lives, not where we are located. Also, since all prices are negotiable, we can't compute the final fees until we know what the agreed purchase price is. If you are an out of state resident, you may not have to pay any taxes or fees at all to the state of California unless you accept delivery at our location or tow it home yourself. If that were to happen, all of the above mentioned taxes and fees would be added to the price. The bottom line is that we can't present these added costs until we know the final price, method of delivery and residence of the buyer. Keep in mind that the seller pays the consignment fee to PI Motorsports, Inc. while at an auction, both the buyer and seller pay some type of fees generally. I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for the great explanation! I'd still like to know a ballpark final cost of a car that was aggreed upon for, say $30,000.00 and then plus the average state taxes and consignment fee. Are we looking at an additional 5%, 10%, 15% on top. Just need to know so I can compute how many more deflated Canadian dollars I'd have to save to buy a Pantera. You guys do the math at a 1.55 exchange rate and have a good chuckle!!
