Pantera T-shirts (pics)

When my designers have down time I tend to have them work on projects that we can put in the "creative bank" - a term I use for artwork that we can figure out how to make money on in the future.

The last project we did was a line of t-shirts for automotive enthusiast (like the image shown below).

That got me to thinking...how many Pantera owners are there that are looking for Pantera themed shirts and hats (or posters, or cut vinyl for their cars)? Twenty? A hundred and twenty?

What kinds of content would Pantera owners want on apparel? I know what I would like, but I don't think I am the typical Pantera demographic.

I also know that even with everything that is going on, someone owns the DeTomaso name and there might be intellectual property issues with doing Pantera clothing.

Robert,

There was some discussion on the IP issues when I started doing the reproduction metal signs. I checked and found the registered trademarks, but basically no one is enforcing them at present and there are a lot of vendors selling items with the DT brand logo. The conclusion was that there was probably enough precedent set to not ahve an issue, although the De Tomaso logo was up for sale and that could change if someone purchased and wanted to license/enforce to get their money back.

I'm as creative as a concrete block. I guess that's because my car isn't white. Wink If you design some cool DT themed shirts I would certainly be interested in purchasing some.

I never gave any thought to what anyone else did for a living. Nice to know there are other creatives here.

Well, it is obvious that we should come up with some apparel that only includes white cars. Maybe they should only be available on white shirts? No, then we would be just as bad as "them".

The designs I posted where just to show some of the recent stuff I had been working on...I thought it would be interesting to see what sort of things people were interested in seeing. DeTomaso logo? Illustrations of cars? tie ins with pop culture stuff? Catch phrases that the community uses?

I live in a bubble (I only know one other Pantera owner in Vegas) so I wanted to get some input from everyone and then possibly do some designs.

I would like to see a shirt with a collage of narrow and wide body cars on it.
Also maybe a movement type image of a Pantera blowing by.
Lastly a golf shirt possibly with the words DeTomaso Pantera and the Isis crest, I always like this style on a golf shirt. Very tasteful.
Theres my .02 cents worth for ya.
