There were a lot of newer Mustangs, in their own area, they were on the eastern side of the parking lot off by themselves more or less; there were a few older Mustangs mingled in with them. I wouldn't describe them as overwhelming the show, there was something there for everybody, even "classic" Pintos for heaven's sake. Mustangs were the dominant model there, but that includes everything from '64 1/2 to 2009. The organizers seemed to do a good job of setting up the show to accomodate everyone, the older enthusiasts and the younger ones too. The vendors seemed to target the younger crowd, perhaps because they know who spends the most money.
I enjoy the fact that the younger Mustang guys are there. I wish the younger guys & the older guys mingled better, like they do in the rat rod world. My opinion is a gear head is a gear head. I always appreciate it when Panteras show up at shows like this where there's a chance to attract new blood to our hobby. My hope is that a few of the young guns will walk the show and "discover" Panteras.
It was 100 degrees at Knotts Sunday, and the show is on asphalt, not grass. It was very hot, the lady I brought along got a good sunburn. My feet are sore today from doing so much walking on the hard/hot surface.
I posted a few Mustang pictures on Tom Crocker's
Cleveland Forum if you're interested.
