Despite the risk of sounding like facebook, gotta tell you about today’s Pantera trip. Sunny and warmish, quite unusual in Denmark in October, I was out for a drive. When I entered a 10km winding road, just before me was a motorcycle. I’m not sure what it was, it looked like a Ducati, clearly a quite big one, but it was repainted orange with no badges, so I’m not sure. He was out driving for fun as well. He drove fast, and tried to shake me, but couldn’t. 2nd and 3rd gear for 10km, met only oncoming traffic two times, nothing in our lane to slow us down. Some of the roads in the woods were damp, I was very careful there, but so was he.
This is the first car I’ve had, where I can truly play with motorcycles. I’ve had 500+ HP cars before, but they didn’t have much handling. I wouldn’t say we were on the edge, I’m too old to play that game, but I’m sure if I had had the time to look at the instruments, we would have hit 100 mph a few times. In the turns he tilted around 45 degrees, that’s about 1g I assume?
To finish the story, I then came to a town with a bit of stop and go, no overheating. And when I felt a bit warm, maybe 1-2 degrees more than comfortable, I turned on the A/C, problem solved.
Panteras rule!
