What a perfect Pantera day it was today!

A small pack of our eastern Canadian Panteras got together for a run to Chateau Montebello. This classic Fairmont Hotel is located on the water between Ottawa and Montreal and gave us an excuse to leave our wives at home and get out in the cool fall air. The trees were starting to change and the ride was exhilarating to say the least.

We hit out on some unknown routes where we ran on these quiet (well, not anymore) country roads that I had never been on before. Eventually we all arrived at our destination where we enjoyed a real nice lunch by the water.

My wife texted me to ask if I was in jail yet (funny girl) so I clicked off a pic of us hanging around enjoying the peace and quiet. Although it would not last long. My wife replied saying that she thought it was a "very nice romantic getaway for you boys."

It really is a crazy pic looking at it again. But I'm sure the real 'photographers' will post some more manly pics from the day.

After a few quiet minutes it was back behind the wheel as we headed out again, grabbed a ferry ride over the river and then blasted home at ridiculous speeds.

Michel and I split the traffic and ran around them like they were standing still. We had folks hanging out of their windows taking pics ...and calling 911. We avoided some deadly speed traps and got home without tickets or incident.

And I guess there is a little romance in it. I love my cat and I love our Pantera community, small as it may be. And I can't wait to do it again.

The inaugural "Get in touch with your feminine side Pantera trip"? Wink

But I do understand. That evening on the Spa trip this year where the hardcore all week group met up with the Swedish+vikings group and we stood there telling kill stories in the great weather, that was truly a magical evening. Maybe the Norwegians' Linie Akvavit helped?
Yeah, it turned out to be just another f'n amazing day in paradise. Smiler

Actually, my day started with a pounding headache and a sinus infection, but knowing this could well be the last great-weather weekend of our year, I was determined to join the guys and get out for a good run. The Chateau Montebello Hotel is a 1930's resort situated on the Ottawa river almost half-way between Montreal and Ottawa, which made it the perfect destination.

When we arrived, we were able to get some great parking at the back of the lot against the forest.

Great photography indeed, Mark, an other fun run, btw, it was a BOOTLEG RUN not a caravaning follow the leader thing. As David mentionned, it was evil, we were passing them like they were standing still witch reminds me of an old song way before my time: Hot Rod Lincoln (70's Dealership)...The only cop we passed on our way back blinked as we passed and did not see us...an other day otta jail, pass go and collect 200 buck!!!
