I remember buying that magazine in February of 81 and drooling all over it. Loved the fact that the Pantera won but the reviewers didn’t really like it. For me the bad boy image of the Pantera portrayed in the article just stoked the desire to own one to a higher level. That was back in the days when owning a Pantera was just a far-away dream for me that started in 1971. Somehow I lost the magazine in one of our moves but did get a color copy of the article from a Pantera friend a few years ago. There is a slight math error in the table that I believe is not in favor of the Pantera.
Never could figure out why Panteras provided to magazines for testing were never very well sorted out by Ford or other distributors. Almost 15 seconds in the ¼ mile is way off even for a late model.

Great article back when journalist didn't cut and paste their articles from manufacturer supplied documents. Still their personal bias seeps-out over the hardline data.
