I replaced my motors with Aerostar motors. To do this right, you need to remove the assembly, then do some cutting on the big rectangular bracket. The article on Mike's site is pretty good.

You can use almost any window motor you want. Another possibility is the Ford F250. It has a larger motor, and since you've got to cut anyway, there shouldn't be much difference with it fitting. The larger motor may work better, but I've got no complaints with my motors.

The Aerostar motor is more rectangular than the F250. The only real problem with clearance is the door hinge. Like I said, you've got to cut the bracket anyway, but once you do, the motor gets real close to the door hinge. If you place it right, or if you use the Aerostar motors, it will fit okay.

If you have any questions- maybe I can help. you do NOT have to cut the stock window regulator to get the areostar motors in. In fact you only have to drill 3 small holes. Dick Koch and I have almost got this down to a snap.. PS do you know anyone that needs some brass gears for there car?

I have this conversion in my car.It works flawlessly and was an hour job at most including removal of the old stuff on both
sides.I think he has raised the price since I got mine though.

I would like to change my motors with f-250 motors. and I would like to buy those brass gears also. Please let me know how much you want for the gears. I saw in the newest P.I. mag that the featured car has used f-250 motors and that they look simular to the originals. I thougt he was going to do an story on his swap.has anyone heard about this? Thanks Paul.....
For the poor soul that neds the whole window mechanisms, I'd suggest calling ALL the Pantera vendors & inquire about their stock of used parts, which they all have, whether they advertise them or not. They all part out Panteras that have been so badly damaged that they are unrepairable. As far as I know, the regulators are specific to the Pantera. Other than that, you can run an ad in P.I and POCA- perhaps someone thats built a racer out of his Pantera has them on a dusty shelf. Otherwise, you'll be in the wrecking yards trying to find something that fits without knowing the critical dimensions. I suggest in this case, you attend one of your local club events & talk someone into letting you strip the door panels off his car & take many measurements. I cannot think of a chore more difficult BTW.
Hello Paul. If you go to PanteraPlace.com
There is a how-to on adding ford aerostar motors. but you can use the ford f-250 also. it's just a bit harder. This is something I came up with and Dick Koch help me get down on paper. If you can't find it, let me know and I can send you a copy. super easy.
As for the brass gears I want 25.00 each plus shipping.
