George can you tell us Pantera fans about the Run in the Desert event,, How many Panteras are planning on going ? Is there still some room for more sign-ups. I know it was going to be limited to about 30-40 cars, I have not signed up due to the OLD $%&^en WORK schedule, I am working on that right now. Whats the scoop dude?

Thanks

Brad,

as of this moment, we have received payment from 5 individuals who want to do track time, there is room for plenty more.

Over the course of two days participants shall have the opportunity to drive their Panteras on the race track at Phoenix International Raceway for a total of 2 hours and 40 minutes, in 20 minute sessions. This is a non-competitive event, the concept is to allow each owner to drive his or her Pantera as fast as they feel safe to do so and that is all. The track provides a safe and legal venue to do so. This gives the owners with show cars a chance to open those polished motors up and answer the question "what'll she do mister?" without worrying about damaging their cart, paint chips, etc. I think the opportunity to have a photo of you at the wheel of your car on a race track is worth the price of admission alone. Passengers are allowed for an additional fee, as are second drivers of the same Pantera.

We will be sharing the track with Arizona Club Racing, so the track will be fully manned with corner workers, pit officials, medical staff, etc. I believe there shall be driving instructors on hand as well. All we ask is that your Pantera is not leaking fluids, the tires are in good condition, and you (and any passengers) are wearing a legal helmet. You shall only be on the track with other Pantera owners.

Food and beverage shall be provided at the track. An informal swap meet is planned. Vendors have been invited. There shall be an informally judged Pantera car show with trophies. After the track event Saturday we shall get together and cruise through Phoenix to a bowling alley for a fun night of camaraderie. There shall be gifts for each participant. Jim has negotiated some good stuff, those of you who know Jim, understand that negotiating gifts is one of his many talents.

The concept of this 2 day event was to give the non-racer a chance to drive their Panteras on a race track, and to have fun. Jim, Dave and I see eye to eye on the concept, it was on our hearts to try and do something for the average owner, and to make a memorable weekend people would want to come back to.

I am also hoping that the other people on the track that day will see a group of Pantera owners having a blast and consider wanting to become owners themselves. In that way the event is promoting the hobby and Pantera ownership, which is a personal goal of mine. I hope more of you will consider joining us, I guarantee you'll have a good time.
