Posted recently on the Audi TT forum was this "leopard spots" Pantera photo...... Anybody on here recall this car show (?) appearance to verify/deny? I believe it's from midwest US.....ummmmmm.....:-/
I was about to make a remark about leopard spots on panther, but became educated on big cats when doing a fact check on Pantherexpert.com :
Jaguars and leopards – the most common black panthers – both normally have spots on their coats and these darker areas persist on the black background. In certain lights, typically shaped spots are clearly visible on the panther’s coat.
Same show as Dave's pic. Irvine Cars & Coffee, 03/05/11. There were 46 Panteras in attendance.
The "leopard spots" are actually decals. The story that I heard was that when the car was purchased (~15 years ago?), the paint wasn't all that great, so the owner decided to add the decals instead of repainting the car. Someone please correct me if that isn't correct.
