rear window install question

What is the easiest way to install the rear window? I must have tried the hard way, because it did not work. Also, does the glass go in the interior side or engine side of the metal strip that goes in the gasket?

I installed mine from engine compartment side beating it with the palm of my hand while my buddie pulled the rope from inside the car. It was not easy in fact I was thinking it may not even fit. Use lots of soap and water in a spray bottle as lube. My gasket was all rubber original I think and the wide flange on the gasket was towards the engine compartment. I also removed the distributor & carb to make installation easier.

John, seen too many people break the rear window either taking it out or installing.Old rubber doesn't make it any easier. I had a pro do it for $60.00 for peace of mind.
